In this guide, you will learn how to replace the batteries in the key fob of a BMW X5. Start by pressing the side button and pulling out the key. Now, using a screwdriver, pry up the small plastic tab shown at minute 2:00. At this point, you can remove the cover that protects the CR2032 battery. Using the screwdriver again, take out the old battery; replace it with the new one, ensuring the negative terminal is facing down and the positive terminal is facing you. You can now reinsert the cover, snapping it into place with a light press, and put the key back in.
