Instructions for Removing Rear Speakers

Model: BMW Serie 3 E46 - Years 1998-2006

For the vehicle in question, the rear speakers are integrated into the shelf, which in this case is fixed and cannot be accessed directly from the trunk. First, remove the rear seat (starting with the bottom cushion and then the backrest). Next, remove the push pins that secure the cross member in front of the shelf. Pull out the headrests by lifting the shelf and removing the retaining clips. Remove the caps from the curtain fasteners and unscrew the underlying pins. Then, detach the speaker protection grilles and unscrew their respective mounting pins. Disconnect the connectors and complete the disassembly by also removing the shelf if necessary.
