Removing the Cabin Air Filter Duct

Model: BMW X5 E53 - Years 1999-2006
Part: Cabin air filter

The cabin air filter is located outside the cabin, specifically just below the windshield in the center position: to replace it, open the hood and locate the plastic screws that secure the cabin air filter cover; once you remove the screws and take off the cover, pull out the old filter and insert the new one. To remove the entire duct, unscrew the two front nuts, pull the side ducts upwards, and slide the cabin air duct forward as if it were a drawer.
