How to Access the Timing Chain on the BMW N.47 Series 1

Model: BMW Serie 1 E81, E82, MK 1, E87 - Years 2004-2013

In this video, you will learn how to access the timing chain on the BMW N.47 Series 1 to check its condition. Open the engine bonnet and begin removing the various components in the sequence shown in the video. Disconnect all the connector cables one by one. Remove the turbo pipe by loosening the clamp that holds it tight. Disconnect the intake connectors. Next, detach the fuel return pipe and remove the injector manifolds. Remove the diesel feed pipes and the central pipe that goes from the high-pressure pump to the rail, then extract injectors 1, 2, 3, and 4. Now lift the cylinder head cover and check the condition of the timing chain.
