How to Replace the Timing Chain of the BMW 1 Series?

To replace the timing chain of the BMW 1 Series, access the lower part of the engine bay by unscrewing the bolts that secure the crankshaft along the length of the vehicle. The part must then be removed; at this point, you can access the left side of the engine block by opening the bonnet. Here, detach the cover from the side of the engine to access the sprockets and the corresponding chain. This must be removed by loosening the chain tensioner and replacing it with a new spare part.
