Where is the coolant temperature sensor located in the BMW 3 Series?

In this video, you can see where the coolant sensor is located in the BMW 3 Series E46, useful if you need to replace it. As shown, the sensor is positioned at the front right of the engine, to your left when looking at the vehicle from the front. It is located right on the lower radiator hose and is easily recognizable. To remove it, first ensure the engine is completely cool, then disconnect the power connector and unscrew it. Once the replacement is installed, you will need to top off the coolant.
