How to Reset the Oil Light on the BMW 3 Series E46

If the oil light appears on the instrument cluster of your BMW 3 Series E46 (model years 1998-2006) despite having already changed the oil and the corresponding filter, follow this guide to reset it manually. First, sit inside your BMW 3 Series E46 and ensure the ignition is off. Then, press and hold the button located at the bottom left of the cluster, between the fuel gauge and the speedometer. While holding the button, turn on the ignition and release the button as soon as the display starts to flash. Finally, press it one last time, and you are done.
