Replacing the Cabin Filters on the BMW 5 Series

Model: BMW Serie 5 E61, E60 - Years 2003-2010
Part: Cabin air filter

To maintain air quality inside the BMW 5 Series cabin, replace the air filters periodically, especially if driving in particularly dusty conditions. Open the hood; near the windshield, you will notice two plastic covers on the right and left. Start with one of the two by removing the retaining bolts with a 13mm socket wrench and disconnecting the electrical connector. Inside, you will find the filter element, which you will replace with a new one, ensuring correct installation. Before replacing the cover, clean the inside of the box, then tighten the bolts and reconnect the connector. Repeat the same steps with the other filter box.
