Rear Shock Absorber Replacement

Model: BMW X5 E53 - Years 1999-2006
Part: Shocks

Replacing the rear shock absorber is much simpler than the front ones since the spring and the damper are separate; essentially, lift the vehicle on a lift, remove the rear wheel, and apply a jack under the suspension during the shock absorber removal; then remove the pin that secures the shock absorber eye to the suspension support to access the trunk, remove the plastic covers to take off the nut that secures the shock absorber shaft to its support and complete the removal; then proceed in reverse for the installation of the new shock absorber.

How to Replace the Lift Supports on a Porsche 911

How to remove and replace the lift supports for the hood on a Porsche 911? Let's see how to replace them in this video: Lift the hood and secure it. Use a screwdriver or metal lever to detach the clips that hold the lift support at both ends (or unscrew the mounting pins). Install the new part onto the sheet metal of the front trunk, securing the lift support with the clips/pins. Proceed in the same manner for the removal/installation of the opposite lift support. Finally, test the gas springs installed earlier.
