- Years 2004-2013 In this video, we can see where the parking sensor control unit is located in the BMW 1 Series, useful in case we need to replace it due to a malfunction. As shown, the control unit in question is located inside the trunk, precisely in the lower right area just behind the headlight. To access it, simply open the trunk, remove the lower edge cover, and remove both the bottom panel and any storage basket if present. To replace the control unit, simply disconnect the corresponding connectors and unscrew the fixing bolts.
