To replace the outside temperature sensor on a BMW 3 Series, lift the front of the car using a jack. Once the vehicle is raised, locate the sensor at the bottom of the front bumper.

Remove the sensor from its housing by disconnecting its connector. After removal, insert the new sensor, connect it to the connector, and reposition it in its place.
