How to Replace the Timing Chain on a BMW X1?

To replace the timing chain on a BMW X1, open the hood to access the components inside the engine bay. At the front of the engine block, locate the cover under which the chain is situated. Remove this cover by taking out the chain tensioners and reducing their tension; this will allow you to remove the chain from the corresponding sprockets and insert the new one into its housing. Re-tension the chain by installing the tensioners and verifying that everything functions correctly.
