How do you reset the Service light on the BMW 5 Series?

To reset the Service light on the BMW 5 Series, you will need to hold down the brake pedal and then press the ignition button three times in a row: at this point the message with the Service light will appear. Now you will need to hold down the button located on the left side of the dashboard, in order to display the maintenance interval; once this is shown, you can release the button and press it again to make the light disappear completely. At the end of the procedure, you can turn off the instrument panel.
