Opening the fuel door on a BMW 3 Series is a simple and quick task you can do yourself. Just unlock the vehicle and press on the fuel door to open it. If it doesn't open due to a broken release mechanism, you can fix the issue by replacing the button.

To do this, open the trunk and remove the side carpet. Insert a flathead screwdriver into the side hole and open the fuel door.

Remove the spring from the fuel door and install the new one. Finally, test the operation of the fuel door.
