When the cigarette lighter socket of the BMW 1 Series stops working, the most common cause of the failure is a blown fuse. To replace the fuse on your own, you need to remove the glove compartment on the driver's side and then extract the green 20 Amp fuse labeled RADIO using a pair of pliers. Once the fuse is removed, you can insert a new one and proceed to close the compartment. If the problem persists, the cause may be a malfunctioning internal connector or a decoding issue with the messages from the control unit, requiring a computerized diagnosis.

How to Remove the Gear Knob on an Opel Astra

How to replace the gear knob on an Opel Astra? Follow these steps: use a plastic lever to disconnect the leather gaiter frame (if you need to replace it). Grip the knob with both hands and pull it upwards (with a strong and decisive motion) until it comes off the gear stick. For installation: fit the new gaiter and position it on the centre tunnel, take the new knob and push it onto the stick, tightening it until fully threaded. Test the movement of the stick on the centre tunnel to ensure the knob is correctly fitted.
