The fuse for the cigarette lighter socket on the 2006 BMW 1 Series is located inside the fuse box in the passenger side glove compartment. To replace the fuse if necessary, open the glove compartment and remove it to access the back.

Use needle-nose pliers to remove fuse F30, rated at 20 Amperes, and insert a new fuse with the same amperage. Refit the glove compartment and test the socket by inserting a charging cable or an accessory that needs to operate with the cigarette lighter socket.

If it does not work, try replacing the internal connector.
