To replace the SOS battery in a BMW X1, use a tool to pry off the components that secure the headliner: at this point, you can also remove the handles on the upper part and the interior light fixture. Now, you can completely detach the headliner, and at the back, you will find the SOS battery: it can be disconnected from its housing so you can insert the new one. This can now be properly secured, then reattach the headliner and fasten it back in place.
