How to Replace the Internal Door Handle of a Chevrolet Aveo

On a first-generation Chevrolet Aveo, you can replace the internal handle without completely removing the inner door panel, working directly in the handle area. Open the door and locate the small plastic cover behind the internal handle. Remove this cover by prising it off with a small screwdriver or a plastic lever; underneath the cover, you will find a fixing screw: unscrew it completely. At this point, gently pull the handle outward to free it from its housing in the panel. Move the handle just enough to access the metal rod connected to the lock. Unclip the rod by rotating the small plastic clip that secures it and pull the end of the rod out of the handle hole. Take the new handle and connect the rod first by inserting it into the hole and securing it with the clip. Then position the handle in its housing and re-screw the fixing screw. Replace the plastic cover and check the operation by opening the door from the inside to ensure the mechanism works correctly.
