How do you change the oil filter on a Captiva? It’s not too complicated; let's see how to do it. Lift the car on a column lift or jack, unscrew the oil sump bolt with a socket wrench (after removing the plastic protective panel if present), let the fluid drain into a disposal container, and re-screw the sump bolt. Lower the car and lift the bonnet, unscrew the oil filter and replace it with a new one. Top up the engine with new fluid. Test the operation of the car in all its parts.
