How to Replace the Automatic Shift Lever on the Chevrolet Suburban GMT 900

This guide shows how to replace the automatic shift lever on the Chevrolet Suburban GMT 900. The first step is to remove the panel on the left side of the dashboard and unscrew the screws at the bottom of the dashboard panel with a star screwdriver. Using a 10 mm wrench, unscrew the bolt securing the brake release lever. Remove the lower dashboard panel. Remove the steering wheel adjustment handle and take off the lower and upper steering wheel panels; the lower one may be held in place with screws. Disconnect the orange cable connector and the cable clips. Using a Torx T30 screwdriver, unscrew the fastening screw of the lever and pull out the part. Install the new component and reassemble everything in place. Check the proper functioning of the replacement part.
