Diagnosis of a serious electrical fault on a Citroen ZX

In this video, the YouTuber suspects an electrical problem on his Citroen ZX and tries to unplug a plastic connector located in the engine compartment: after disconnecting it, he notices that the engine does not exceed 2000 revolutions per minute. This is a typical behavior of engine control units when they detect a fault in a critical sensor. They enter protection mode to prevent damage to the engine. The symptoms point towards a problem in one of these critical components: 1) ECU unit or its power supply (as evidenced by the attempt to unplug the electrical connector) 2) camshaft position sensor (CMP), a common fault that causes difficult starts, shaking, and engine warning light; 3) crankshaft position sensor (CKP) if this sensor does not work, the ECU does not know at what speed to run the engine and when to inject fuel, causing serious malfunctions; 4) ignition coils or spark plug wires (if it is a gasoline engine).
