How to Fix the Always Maximum Fan Issue on Citroen DS3

The problem is that the air conditioning fan runs at maximum speed, regardless of the setting selected on the control panel, even if it appears to be off. The fault is due to a defective fan resistor module, which is responsible for controlling the fan speed by sending more or less current. When it burns out, the circuit defaults to running the fan at maximum speed. The solution is to replace the resistor by removing the fabric cover under the passenger compartment and taking off the plastic panel below. The resistor is located at the top, near two pipes, and is a small plastic housing with an electrical plug that we will disconnect. However, the resistor cannot be unscrewed by hand: we need to insert a large flat-head screwdriver into the slot and turn it counterclockwise by a quarter turn to unlock it. After replacement, the speed control will function perfectly again.
