Brake Caliper Cleaning and Lubrication

Oxidation and dust contamination of the brakes can cause the floating system of the brake caliper to seize, preventing proper release after braking; to check this situation, position the vehicle on suitable axle stands and remove the front wheel: if the disc does not rotate freely by hand, action is required. Remove the brake caliper, extract the pads, remove the sliding plates and the fastening pins complete with rubbers; clean the caliper support with appropriate spray and a metal brush, lubricate the pins and sliding plates, and reinstall the pads and caliper: at this point, you will notice that the pads retract more easily and the disc rotates freely.

How to Check the Oil Level on a Jeep Renegade?

To check the oil level on a Jeep Renegade, you need to open the bonnet to access the components inside the engine bay: on the lower left side of the engine block, you will find the dipstick for checking the level. This should be pulled out and thoroughly cleaned with a cloth: once cleaned, reinsert it back into its tube and pull it out immediately after. This way, you can check that the oil mark is between the minimum and maximum levels; finally, you can place the dipstick back in its tube.
