Let's see how to replace the cigarette lighter with a double USB socket: we can find this socket on Amazon for 15.99 euros (+3.99 euros for delivery), already complete with its cables and with the voltmeter measurement. Before performing this operation, remember to disconnect the negative pole of the battery. Let's take note of the radio code, if necessary. We will have to unscrew the screw that holds the side partition of the console in place, from both sides, in order to free the central console. Then there will be more screws to remove on the central panel, in order to remove the plastic cover. All positions are indicated very well in the video. Once we have uncovered the connection wires, we remove the cigarette lighter connector and, by stripping the wires, we connect the new one to the black wire and the red one to the red wire. Let's connect them with some electrical tape. Then we check that the new connector is the right size to fit into the hole of the previous cigarette lighter. If necessary, we adapt it. Put all the connectors back in place. We can also put the console back in place. But not before testing that the connections actually work.
