Changing the Engine Oil and Filter on the Citroen C3

Follow these steps to replace the engine oil and filter on the Citroen C3. Open the bonnet and unscrew the oil filler cap, then remove the dipstick. Using a ratchet wrench with an extension and a 27 mm socket, unscrew the oil filter cover after placing a container to catch the used oil. Cover the area with a cloth to prevent dirt from entering. Lift the car using a jack or ramp, unscrew the oil drain plug after placing a collection container underneath, and allow the old oil to drain. Take the filter cover and remove the old filter element and rubber seal, clean it with a suitable cleaner, and insert the new filter and new O-ring, applying a thin layer of oil on the seals. Refit the new filter into its housing and tighten the cover with a torque wrench to 250 Nm. Screw in the drain plug with a new seal, tightening it with a torque wrench to 30 Nm. Pour approximately 3.5 litres of engine oil into the filler cap and check the level with the dipstick. Start the engine until the oil pressure warning light goes out. Check the level again and top up if necessary.
