If the buttons on the key cover are damaged, you can replace the cover itself by purchasing it aftermarket without needing to replace the entire key; you should leverage the seam between the two shells to separate them: it is recommended to use just the cover with the buttons, shifting only the electronic circuit to avoid disassembling the key; however, if you want to move the key blade to the other half of the shell, you will need to release the spring mechanism, taking care to preload the spring during the assembly phase.

How to Open the Bonnet on the Lancia Y
