Today we will explain how to replace the battery of a Cupra Formentor remote control in a simple and fast way. Before illustrating the procedure to replace the battery, we will explain why the remote control battery has a short lifespan. The cause is the keyless functions, in fact before these functions were installed, the remote control was only used to open and close the vehicle. With keyless modes, the remote control is used not only to open and close the vehicle but also to start it, all without pressing any buttons. To replace the battery, we need to remove the cover to access the battery compartment. We then remove the battery and replace it with the same model, the CR 2032. After replacing the battery, we close the cover and test the remote control by pressing the buttons on it. If you are unable to replace the battery, you can use the emergency metal key stored inside the remote control to enter the vehicle and start the engine. In these cases, simply remove the top part of the remote control to extract the key and insert it into the lock, located on the handle, and then place the key next to the ignition switch.
