How to replace the battery on the Dacia Sandero

To replace the battery on the Dacia Sandero, secure the car with the engine off, the key removed, and the electrical systems deactivated. Open the hood and locate the battery in the engine compartment. Before touching the terminals, ensure you have enough space and light, and wear protective gloves. Start by disconnecting the negative terminal (usually identified by the black cable and the “–” symbol). Loosen the clamp just enough to slide it off the terminal and move it to the side, avoiding contact with the battery. Then move on to the positive terminal (red cable and “+” symbol), loosen the clamp, and place this cable in a stable and separate position to reduce the risk of accidental contact. At this point, you can proceed with removing the battery: if there is a base lock or a mounting bracket, it must be unlocked before lifting the battery. When installing the new battery, check that the dimensions, terminals, and capacity are compatible with the one removed and that it is correctly positioned in its seat. Reconnect the terminals in reverse order of disassembly: first the positive, then the negative. Tighten the clamps firmly but without forcing, and check that there are no loose connections. As a final check, ensure that the cables are well secured and away from moving parts or sharp edges. If after the replacement you notice warning lights or a reset of the clock/car radio, it is normal: restore the settings and check the starting.
