How to Release the Handbrake Without Starting the Engine on a Dacia Jogger

Learn how to release the electric handbrake on a Dacia Jogger without starting the engine. Turn on the instrument panel without starting the engine; press the brake pedal firmly, then release the handbrake by pressing the button for a couple of seconds. You should see a message on the display saying "handbrake released" and the "P" light will turn off. The handbrake is now released. A warning message may remain on the display, reminding you to apply the handbrake before exiting, but this is normal. This function is useful in case of a fault or flat battery to move the car, or for maintenance, or if you need to push or tow the car for a short distance.
