How to use the emergency braking system on the Dacia Sandero Stepway

The Dacia Sandero Stepway's active emergency braking system uses a front camera to detect the distance from vehicles ahead or approaching from an intersection. It detects moving vehicles at speeds between 7 and 70 km/h, while stationary vehicles are recognised between 7 and 80 km/h. In the event of a collision risk, a red warning light illuminates on the instrument panel accompanied by an audible signal. If the driver does not brake, the system automatically activates emergency braking until a complete stop. However, it is possible to interrupt the braking by pressing the accelerator or steering. The system activates automatically on startup but can be deactivated from the "Driving Assistance" menu on the multimedia screen. In the absence of a screen, use the odometer to navigate the vehicle menu. An orange warning light indicates when the system is deactivated or has a fault. It is essential to remember that this system does not replace driver attention and may not function correctly in curves, with vulnerable users (bicycles/motorcycles), or in adverse weather conditions such as snow and ice.
