Replacement of Rear Brake Shoes

Model: Dacia Logan MK 1 - Years 2004-2012

If you notice that the braking of the rear wheels has become inefficient and especially that the handbrake lever has a long travel, it means the rear brake shoes are worn. To replace them, lift the vehicle on a ramp, remove the rear wheel, take off the cap at the centre of the hub, and unscrew the underlying nut to remove the drum. At this point, disconnect the retaining springs of the shoes and the handbrake cable to remove them from their housing. Clean the shoe housing thoroughly, ensuring that the activation cylinder does not leak oil. Transfer the springs to the new shoes and secure them to the hub support. It is also advisable to lightly sand the inside of the drum before reinstalling it.
