The EGR valve was designed to reduce emissions from motor vehicles, in this case the Fiat Ducato 2.3 130 Multijet. It recovers part of these emissions, about 15%, and introduces them into the intake manifold of the air, so a sort of recycling.

Over time, it becomes necessary to clean this component, as carbon residues create layers of buildup and to do this it must be disassembled as indicated below: Open the engine hood and completely remove the intake manifold and the connected tube, thus gaining access to the aforementioned EGR valve, located at the bottom of the engine, from which we will remove the mounting bolts and the connector of the electrical cables.
