How to Replace the Timing Belt on a 2024 Fiat Ducato

To replace the timing belt on a Fiat Ducato, park the vehicle on a flat surface and disconnect the negative battery terminal. Raise the front of the vehicle and remove the right front wheel to access the inner wheel arch. Open the bonnet and remove the lower protective cover to detach the auxiliary belt; you may need to support the engine with a suitable stand, but in these cases, it is advisable to go to a workshop for the replacement. Otherwise, remove the engine mount on the timing side and take off the crankshaft pulley. Bring the engine to top dead centre on cylinder I and insert the locking tools on the crankshaft and camshaft. Loosen the belt tensioner to remove it; take off the tensioner and the idler pulleys. Install the new idler pulleys and tensioners to fit the new belt. Adjust the tensioner according to the manufacturer's specifications and remove the locking tools. Manually rotate the engine for at least two complete turns and insert the tools to check alignment; after ensuring the belt tension is correct, reinstall the timing cover and fit the crankshaft pulley. Remove the engine support and reinstall the wheel arch and front wheel.
