How to Change the Engine Oil and Filter in a Fiat Ducato

To change the engine oil and filter in a Fiat Ducato, park the vehicle on a flat surface and safely lift it to access the underside of the engine. Position a container under the oil sump, unscrew the filler cap in the engine bay, and then the drain bolt of the sump.

Allow the used oil to completely drain out, then refit the drain plug, replacing the washer if necessary. Locate the oil filter and unscrew it with a specific spanner, being careful of any residual oil. Lubricate the seal of the new filter with a thin layer of clean oil and screw it on until properly tightened.

Pour the new engine oil through the filler neck, check the level with the dipstick, and top up if necessary. Start the engine for a few moments and check for any leaks around the filter and sump.
