Need to replace the damaged oil filter on a Fiat 500? Let's look at the replacement process. Lift the car with a column lift and secure it. Use a strap wrench to unscrew the large oil filter. Remove the worn oil filter and install a new one. Unscrew the drain plug from the oil sump and drain the oil into a container. Lower the car and open the front bonnet. Top up with new oil (unscrew the oil filler cap on the cylinder head) and close the front bonnet after completing the maintenance. Check the levels.
