How to Remove the Radio from a Fiat 500L

Removing the radio from a Fiat 500L is a fairly simple task that can be done with the help of some plastic levers and a screwdriver. First, remove the plastic trim surrounding the radio, the instrument cluster, and including the air vents; this will be clipped in place, and to unclip it, simply lever along the joint line around the perimeter of the surface. Once unclipped, the trim will remain attached to the dashboard near the steering column via two plastic umbrella clips that secure the leather cover to the dashboard; these clips can be easily released by pulling the central part outwards. After completely removing the plastic trim, you will have access to the screws securing the button panel, which includes the hazard light button located below the radio; this will be secured with three screws, two of which will be easily visible on the sides of the button panel and one a bit more hidden at the bottom. After removing the screws from the button panel, it will not be necessary to disconnect its power connector, as you can work on the radio by shifting it sideways. At the four corners of the radio, there will be another four screws securing it to the dashboard; these need to be unscrewed to allow the radio to be pulled out, giving access to the connectors behind it, which, once disconnected, will allow you to completely remove the radio from the car.
