How to Replace the Gear Cable on a Fiat Punto?

To replace the gear cable on a Fiat Punto, lift the car on the driver's side only and remove the six Torx screws securing the plastic cover of the gearbox, located underneath the vehicle. Use a spanner to disconnect the cable from the gearbox and use pliers to remove the fixing fork of the gearbox. At this point, you can slide the cable out of the bracket and, using a screwdriver, lever to lift the cable retaining clip, accessing it from the engine bay. Now, from the underside of the vehicle, you can completely remove the cable and replace it with the new spare part.
