How to replace the silent blocks of the Fiat Panda
Model: Fiat Panda
169, MK 2
- Years 2003-2012
To change the silent blocks of the rear axle of a Fiat Panda we operate as follows: remove the rear wheel, proceed to remove the shock absorber using a 15mm wrench for the upper bolt, while for the lower bolt we use a socket wrench. 19mm; removed the shock absorber the spring comes off by itself, we continue to remove the rear drum by unscrewing the 4 17mm bolts, remove the brake pipes from the various joints and clamps, remove the oil pipe from the drum by placing a container underneath. Once the drum has been removed, with a 5mm torx, remove the bolt that holds the pin of the ABS tube (being careful not to break it); once the drum has been removed, we move on to remove the rear arm, using a socket wrench of 17 and one of 19mm for the arm bolts. Once the arm has been removed, we remove the silent blocks with the help of a press (in the video the arm has been taken to a center where they have a press available); once the silent blocks have been replaced, we can put the arm back in its seat and for assembly we operate in the opposite way compared to disassembly. Remember that after reassembling everything you need to bleed the brakes, where a person inside the car presses the brake pedal and at the same time we open the bleed valve, when the air has come out, we press the brake pedal to 3 and repeat the vent for 3/4 times. After replacing the silent blocks, you need to go to a professional to make a convergence. We repeat the same operation for the other side.
