Replacing Automatic Gearbox Oil on the Fiat Freemont

Model: Fiat Freemont MK 1 - Years 2011-2016

Open the bonnet and locate the box containing the air filter; to access the automatic gearbox to check and possibly replace the oil level, you need to remove the air filter box. Under the air filter is the gearbox, and on the top left is the filler cap, which you should unscrew. After that, lift the vehicle, remove the soundproofing panels located under the engine, and locate the lower oil drain plug. Loosen the plug, ensuring you have placed an oil collection tray on the floor. Wait a few minutes for all the oil to drain out and then refit the drain plug. Return to the top of the engine bay and proceed to top up with new oil (check the correct specification by referring to the user and maintenance manual). Refit the filler cap and finally reassemble the air filter.
