How to replace the damper pulley on a Fiat Freemont

Model: Fiat Freemont MK 1 - Years 2011-2016

This type of pulley transmits the rotational motion produced by the crankshaft to secondary components. It is usually made of cast iron, and the presence of rubber elements allows it to dampen engine vibrations. To replace it, loosen the bolts of the front wheel; then lift the vehicle with a hydraulic jack and place safety stands underneath. Remove the bolts and take off the wheel and the side plastic cover; then unscrew the bolts and remove the cover. At this point, you have access to the damper pulley. Using a 15 mm spanner, loosen the tensioner and remove the auxiliary belt; now unscrew the 4 T50 Torx screws and remove the pulley. Fit the new pulley, aligning the male and female holes. Reposition the tensioner and install the belt. Reassemble the parts in reverse order.
