Full Service and Removal of the 60-Litre Restriction from the Tank of a Fiat Ducato Motorhome

Fiat Ducato motorhomes have a reduced diesel tank capacity from 90 to 60 litres. However, the YouTuber briefly illustrates the full service of his vehicle and shows how to easily restore it to its original capacity. You can easily find the complete kit of all filters and 6 litres of SAE 5W40 oil for about £107.00 on eBay. Start with the air filter. It is located right as you open the bonnet: 4 screws and it can be easily changed. Then open the top oil cap and go underneath the van to open the sump. Allow the oil to drain into a container, which you will then dispose of at an authorised centre. Meanwhile, also change the oil filter, which is located nearby. To find the diesel filter, you need to remove the right front headlamp and pull it out from underneath. After changing this, you can refit the oil sump and pour in the six litres of oil. Next, change the cabin filter. To do this, you need to partially dismantle the passenger side dashboard. Behind there, you will find the cabin filter. Now, let's focus on removing the restriction. Access to the tank is under the mat next to the driver's seat. You will find a plastic cap that needs to be removed. Here, be very careful as there are many electrical contacts that need to be lifted, and also lift the cap which has a seal that must not fall into the tank. Pulling up the cap with all its floats and contacts, you will see a white plastic cone held to the cap by three tabs. This is what you need to remove. Once that is removed, you can put everything back in place. At this point, the capacity of your tank has returned to the original 90 litres.
