Only perform this operation with the engine cold to avoid potential issues. Start by opening the bonnet, then locate the unit. Disconnect the negative terminal first, followed by the positive terminal, then remove the unit from its housing. Once done, insert the new unit into the same housing, reconnect the terminals, finish the job, and close the bonnet.
