Alternator Pulley Issue on Grande Punto 1.3 MJT

If, after starting the engine, you hear a squeaking noise coming from the engine bay that intensifies when accelerating, it is likely a fault with the alternator's overrunning pulley, also known as the freewheel. This device allows movement only when the pinion is turned in the direction of motion at the same speed as the shaft; it does not produce any movement in the opposite direction. To replace the pulley, first obtain the appropriate removal tool. Once the auxiliary belt is removed, you can attempt to replace it without removing the alternator.
