What to do if the engine lock light appears on the dashboard of a Fiat car

In this video, see what to do if an icon depicting a lock and an engine appears on the dashboard of a Fiat car. This usually happens after the key has fallen or suffered a strong impact. The same issue can also occur in Alfa Romeo, Opel, Renault, Peugeot, and Citroen vehicles.

Work on the remote by opening the screw located at the front. Remove the battery and open the casing of the device using a screwdriver as a lever.

Take the printed circuit board and check it; there will likely be a break in the circuit. If you have a slight knowledge of electronics, you can repair it with a small solder.

Refit the board in place and close the casing after replacing the battery and reloading the key spring. Now try to start the vehicle.

It works!
