Replacing the fuel filter is a simple task that should be done frequently for optimal performance. You will need two tools to extract the filter. Start by disconnecting the fuel connector, lift the filter upwards, and disconnect the fuel pipes to allow the diesel to drain. Unscrew the filter cover and remove it. The filter cartridge is attached to the cover and can be removed by applying some force. Replace the cartridge and refit the cover, replacing the rubber seal. Reconnect the pipes and the connector. Clean up any spilled fuel thoroughly to prevent fire hazards.
