What Does the Oil Warning Light Indicate on the Fiat 500?

When the oil warning light illuminates on a Fiat 500, as with other car models, it means that the engine oil needs to be replaced. Only after this can you proceed to reset the warning light.

But why does the oil light come on? The oil light activates when the engine oil level is too low or too high, or due to a malfunction in the engine or oil pump. To replace the oil, open the sump and allow the oil to drain, then top up using the reservoir located under the front bonnet.

To reset the light, start the vehicle and press the menu button, then select the service option and perform the reset.
