How do Ford Easy Fuel tank caps work?

In this video we see a particularity of Ford cars, which do not have a real fuel cap: in fact, opening the small door we do not find a cap in front of us, maybe to be opened with a key, or a cap to be unscrewed, which remains attached to the fuel inlet with a thin plastic string or with a chain. None of this: We find ourselves in front of a fuel inlet, apparently closed by a metal plate. It is the "Easy Fuel" system, which allows diesel cars to only allow the diesel fuel inlet, and gasoline cars to only allow the gasoline inlet, and no others. In this way, the danger of refueling with the wrong fuel has been eliminated, and there are no problems with the inlet not opening.
