How to safely lift a Ford Fiesta MK7

In this video, we will see how to safely lift a Ford Fiesta MK7: first of all, pull the handbrake, engage a gear, and chock the wheels opposite to the ones being lifted. To lift the front wheels, we will find that there is a lifting point in the shape of an "X" on the front subframe: it is the main metal structure under the engine, so we position the jack head in the center of this subframe to lift both front wheels evenly. We never work under the car lifted only by the jack. We should use a pair of jack stands that we will position on the chassis rails, behind the front wheel arch. To lift the rear, the lifting point is the torsion beam, which is the rigid and thick bar that connects the two rear suspension arms and runs horizontally under the rear axle of the car: we position the jack in the center of this bar to lift the rear wheels evenly. For the jack stands, we place reinforced plates with a notch in the floor next to the rear wheels, which are designed for this use. We always use a piece of hard wood between the bodywork and the jack stand to avoid damage and for a more stable grip.
