In this video, we can see how to open the locked hood of a Ford Fiesta (but the system also applies to the Fusion and Focus), where the opening cable has detached. There are several methods: the one used by the YouTuber was to get under the car, with a plastic spatula, and in the small space between the hood and the bumper, manage to remove the two bolts that hold the hood latch in place; of course, you can't reach them with your hands, you need to have an "L" extension like the one we see in the video. Once the latch is removed, the hood opens and we have enough space to find the broken cable.
