In this video, you will see how to open a stuck bonnet on a Ford Fiesta (this method also applies to the Fusion and Focus) where the release cable has come loose. There are several methods: the one used by the YouTuber involved getting underneath the vehicle with a plastic spatula and, in the small gap between the bonnet and the bumper, removing the two bolts that hold the bonnet latch in place; naturally, you cannot reach this with your hands, so a "L" shaped extension like the one shown in the video is necessary.

Once the latch is detached, the bonnet opens, providing enough space to access the broken cable.
