Let's see how to reset the service light on a Ford S-Max: the vehicle must be turned off and the key removed from the ignition. Now insert the key into the ignition without turning anything on. Press the accelerator pedal all the way down and at the same time press the brake pedal. Keep them both pressed and at the same time turn the key to the "ON" position to turn on the instrumentation (but not the engine). Wait for about 15 seconds, after which the message confirming the reset will appear, and the oil light should disappear. Turn off the ignition and check that the light has indeed disappeared.
